Tyce funnies

I have a few new "Tycisms" today. Lately I have been telling Tyce that I think his ears aren't working, because I seriously have to repeat myself 7 times before he hears it. Well, the other day I told him yet again that I didn't think his ears worked, and he informed me that he didn't think my voice worked. I guess it's all about how you look at it.

Yesterday morning I was watching American Idol. (I taped it the night before) Alison was talking on her little interview, and Tyce yells from the kitchen, "Is that Mylee" (sp) I really don't know how he knows Mylee Syrus' name, but I was surprised that Alison really does sound a little like dear miss Hannah Montana! (I know how to spell that name!!!)

Paige has had an interesting couple of days. Her cheer recital was Tuesday, and my goal is to get the pictures on the computer, and make that my next blog, but because of late practices and the recital being late (on a school night) she has not had a bath for a couple of days. So, yesterday I got a phone call from the school, and Paige had found a tick in her hair. She had apparently had it there for quite some time, as it was all puffed up with blood. I guess she squeezed it and popped it. GROSS I KNOW! Anyway, she pulled it out and we ended up taking her to the doctor to have him look at it because we weren't sure all the pieces were out. Gotta love those little fellas!

Happy Anniversary

Happy 13th anniversary to us! Yesterday was our anniversary, but I didn't have time to blog. I do however want you all to know how much I love this man. Of course the only pictures I can find of us together are the ones we took in Mexico over a year ago, but they will do! Seeing how an anniversary is a way of celebrating your spouse, I thought of a few things to say about Jody... J- for JOLLY which he is most of the time. He often attacks and tickles anyone of us within reaching distance. Some times I roll my eyes at him, or tell him to stop winding up the children, but I really love that he's so playful.
O- is for ODE which is one of his nicknames. He, however, is the one who is usually handing out the nicknames. He has also passed this trait on to Ali, as she rarely calls anyone by their given name. Here is a list of what Jody calls his children: Kaden-Ron Boone, Ali-Barely, Paige-Pajemajora, Tyce-BooBoo, and he is yet to give Danica one that will stick. It usually takes him a while to decide on just the right one I guess.
D- for DEDICATED this is Jody if I had to describe him in one word. Whether it's his job, the farm, a calling, or his family, he knows his responsibilities and does them well. I am so glad for his dedication to me. I'm blessed to know that if I needed something, Jody would be there for me.
Y- YESTERDAY was our real anniversary, but today I love him more than ever. If I had it to do all over...I'd do it all over again!!! I love you Jody!

Surprise

You all have Natalie to blame for these pictures. I had to take them of myself, and that's not always lovely, but she wanted to see the new hair-do. I have been waiting for two weeks for my hair appointment to change my hair color back to the original brown that it was. It's kind of scary to go back after so long. You can tell however in this picture that I have extreme roots and that's the whole problem. I can't seem to keep up with them because there is to many other things to worry about in life, so back to brown we went.

I know this is not a great picture and it seems like maybe I should have stayed with blonde, but it really does look better than this shows. I even had one lady tell me at church that it made me look sexy, so let's go with that! Sexy is always good when you're my age!
This part of my cut I LOVE! I wanted to chop the back off when I first cut all the long hair off, but didn't. I love this though, because it is so much less work than before. Less work is also something good for us busy women.
One funny, but not so funny story about my hair change, is that right after I did it, Danica did not know me. She would look at me, turn and cry, then glance back, and turn and cry. It only took her a minute, but she knew it was my voice and face, but seemed scared of the new do! My hair dresser said, "You may be back for highlights tonight." I seriously thought about it before I even left there, because it broke my heart. The look in her eyes was so sad. Well, happy ending, by the time we got home and I took the blanket off of her car seat, she gave me a big smile, and we all now live happily ever after. The end.

New calling

I don't know what our ward leaders are thinking. I was released from the yw in January along with several other leaders because we had young families and they felt like we needed to relieve some stress and take a break. It was a few short weeks later when I was called to be the new cubmaster, as they THOUGHT this wouldn't be as time consuming. WRONG! It seems to be just as much of a hassle. I do however enjoy the calling more than I thought I would if only we had a few less training meetings. I loved not having to worry about anything on Sunday except getting my children to church and trying to sit and listen. Well, I guess it wasn't meant to last. They have now called me to teach the 16-17 year old Sunday school class every other week, along with being a cubmaster. I tend to agree with Jody as he is wondering why if they released me from yw so I could be with my family more, are they giving me 2 callings. I can't say I'm overjoyed at the newest one, although I will be getting to work with the only group of yw that I didn't get to work with while I was in yw. I just really liked the break on Sundays, (if you can call taking 5 children to church a break). Well, I have to try to figure out why in the world the trapper trails website won't let me on to update the boys achievements, because I can't go buy their awards for pack meeting if I don't first get it updated online. ARGH!

Tyce Funnies...

Tyce always keeps us smiling. This picture is the way he went to the sumo ward party. He wanted a mohawk like his brother, and he loved these clown glasses I found for pack meeting the night before. He looked so stinking cute.

Last night Tyce accidently hurt Kaden's finger and got quite upset about it. He started crying and told us that he had to leave. He needed to go find another place to live because he hurt Kaden. As he was getting on his shoes and jacket over his pj's which consisted of a huge Dad t-shirt, I asked him where he was going to go because it was night time and he was only 4. He immediately said, "MEXICO" I hid a little chuckle as I asked him how he was going to get to Mexico, and he responded, "I'll take a taxi." Well, smart little boy, if we only had taxis in Treasureton, or even Preston. He then proceeded to open the door. He saw the rain and closed the door right back up. I said, "Do you think maybe you could stay with your mom at least tonight because I love you so much?" He said he would and the tears of a broken hearted little boy finally dried up. We have no idea where he even got the idea to leave.

I sent him in to the bathroom to talk to his dad while he was in the tub getting ready for a meeting. I then went to tuck the girls into bed. When I finally had all the kids tucked in, Jody told me another funny. While Tyce was visiting with him in the bathroom, he said, "Dad, why are you all haired up?" We got quite a good laugh out of it. I imagine that arm, leg, and chest hair do look mighty strange to a little boy who has none of that. One thing is for sure, we sure love Tyce and all of his many, many funny moments!!!

Happy Easter

Here's the crew on Easter morning after they found their baskets. We had a good day. After church we went to Jody's families for an Easter party and dinner. The kids hunted eggs and loved the fact that for the first time in several years it was actually warm enough to do it outside instead of inside.

I think my favorite part of the day was when our ward choir (which I am usually in, but have not been because of children and a husband who's the elders quorm pres. and always in meeting or has to talk to someone about something) sang I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES I cried my eyes out. I love that song and the message it brings. I am so grateful for Easter and the oppurtunity it gives me to take a little extra time to think of my Savior. What a wonderful blessing!

IT'S SUMO TIME

This was our most recent ward party. Sumo wrestling. We ate hotdogs, nachos, and homemade rootbeer, and enjoyed watching some of the leaders of our ward make fools of themselves... So this one is Jody. In his first match the other guy dislocated his (the other guys) finger and had to go to the hospital to have it fixed. They said the other guy won the round, but since he wasn't there, Jody wrestled in the championship and won! It was very funny. In the championship round he and the ym pres. he was against decided to add a little drama, and they put on quite a show. They even took a minute out of wrestling to do a little sumo dancing.

This is Jody after he won. His trainers were Kaden, and Mark Schuman. You had to have 2 trainers to help you get up when you fell. Mark also put on quite a show for the crowd. He sure can yell loud!

This is me. Although it looks like I'm dancing, I was just trying to keep my suit on. The back wasn't staying done up. They put the inside of my suit (the part you put the air in) on up side down, so I couldn't walk well, and when we hit hard, I felt alot more than I should have. I was not suppose to be wrestling, but one of the women they had asked to wrestle went to the hospital for an illness that she has been struggling with, so when I got there they asked me to do it. I was dressed in a nice warm sweater, and MAN were those suits HOT! I didn't win my first match, but felt a little better about losing after the lady I wrestled ended up winning the womens championship. All in all, it was a very fun ward party, and I recommend any one getting the chance to sumo wrestle should give it a try.

I GOT TAGGED...

Ahhhhh! I almost forgot that Natalie tagged me quite a while ago. I just haven't been on the blog trail for a while. So of course fourth folder fourth picture would have to make me cry. This is Danica at about 3 weeks old. I CANNOT BELIEVE how fast time flies. She was so tiny. I guess it could be worse. If I'd had a digital camera back when Kaden was a baby, it could be his baby picture I'd have to post instead. Then wouldn't I really feel old! Anyway, I tag my college roomies. Same folder and picture. Can't wait to see!

That's my boy!

So I'm putting a picture of my big handsome boy on here because he said something the other day that I don't want to forget, and thought maybe I'd share it with all of you.
We were driving home from our Spring Break visit with my family, and we were listening to the radio. In the middle row of seats sat Paige, Tyce, and Danica. Paige and Tyce started playing with Danica and she started to get excited and giggle a bit so I turned down the radio a little so I could hear her. Pretty soon she was laughing harder than she ever has, so I turned down the radio so we could all hear her. Ali's face was all smiles in the back, and Kaden and I were just listening and smiling up fromt when Kaden leaned over to me and said, "THAT'S MUSIC!" I of course instantly started to cry as I gave him a high five because I was too choked up to agree. I just love those proud mom moments when even your 11 year old who won't listen in sacrament meeting sometimes gets what the good moments in life are. He is an amazing big brother and has been so much help this year. I can't believe he will be 12 next January. If you want to see me really cry, join our sacrament meeting the first time he passes the sacrament.
Well, enough boobing for today. I know I still haven't posted my sumo pictures, but some day maybe after all these cheer and dance recitals are over I can do some major blogging catching up. For now, it's what I can, when I can!
